Building Opportunities for Sistas to Shine

(B.O.S.S.) Scholarship

The Building Opportunities for Sistas to Shine Scholarship (B.O.S.S.) aims to make racial equality a reality by helping outstanding Black cis or transgender female students achieve their dreams to continue their education.

Each year, EverGreen Dreams will provide two cis or transgender female students who have been accepted to and will attend, a 2-year or 4-year college or university or a technology/vocational school with no less than $1,000 in financial support to aid them in achieving their dream of continuing their education.

EverGreen Dreams Board of Directors is dedicated to the growth of the B.O.S.S. Scholarship. It has approved a plan for increasing the financial support provided to scholarship recipients over the next few years with an end goal of being able to provide two $2,000 scholarships each year.

Congratulations to the 2025 B.O.S.S.

Scholarship Recipients!

As part of our commitment to helping young Black women achieve educational excellence, EverGreen Dreams helps ease the financial burden for deserving high school graduates nationwide. For the 2025-2026 school year, EverGreen Dreams was pleased to award two students with a $2,000 scholarship each:

Jada Ogueh

INCOMING FRESHMAN – MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
Majoring in Computer Science

Jada currently resides in Fulshear, Texas. She graduated from Jordan High School. Jada will be attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the Fall and is looking to major in Computer Science. This summer, Jada will be working at her local BBQ restaurant, taking an online course at Harvard (CS50-Introduction to Computer Science), and spending time with family.

How does Jada celebrate the beauty, power, and resilience of Black women?
“I joined my school’s Technology Student Association chapter and focused my efforts on recruiting girls of color, particularly Black girls, aiming to create a diverse environment that would empower them to embrace their excellence in technology.”

“As I continue to be true to myself, I also seek to carry forward the legacy of my mother and my grandmother, whose resilience as an immigrant in America and a headstrong girl in a strict Nigerian family reverberates through my body. I will keep striving to celebrate Black women—not just in technology, but in every space where we belong.”

Jada intends to use her B.O.S.S. scholarship to help offset the costs of the meal plan, textbooks, or any additional non-tuition-related expenses.

Jendayi Gyamerah-Oliver

INCOMING FRESHMAN – XAVIER UNIVERSITY
Majoring in Math and Actuarial Science

Jendayi currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from North Central High School. Jendayi will be attending Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the Fall and is looking to major in Math and Actuarial Science. This summer, Jendayi will be working at Mathnasium, working with kids who struggle with math, as well as at the community center food court, and taking an English class online for college.

How does Jendayi celebrate the beauty, power, and resilience of Black women?
“I embrace my role as a living example of how smart, confident, kind, responsible, and focused Black young women can be. I take pride in my platform, using it to advocate for inclusivity and representation, making sure all voices, especially those of other Black girls, are heard and valued. As class president, I learned that many people looked up to me, and I was their biggest example of the strength, determination, and compassion of a black girl.”

“My ultimate goal is to use my platform post-graduation to advocate for Black women in sports. I want to fight for better pay, representation, and protection for women athletes, ensuring that they receive the respect and opportunities they deserve.”
